  • IEPER HARD CORE FEST

August 13-15, 2010 – 18th Edition IEPER HARD CORE FEST Ieper, Belgium

Ieperfest is an independent 3-day Hardcore festival taking place in the Flemish city Ieper. Not only is it the longest running European outdoor underground festival, but it is also an established name across the world. The festival offers a stage to an international variety of underground groups, without the help of major budgets or sponsors. This helps us safeguard our true D.I.Y spirit, and allows us to attract a wide variety of bands, concentrating on what keeps us together rather than what separates us. This year, the variety of bands is even wider… Just like on last year's edition, we will have two stages! Over the next three days, you’ll be able to check out and support 61 bands, divided between our regular Outdoor stage, and our indoor Marquee stage!

Ieperfest is organised by 2 Belgian, not-for-profit D.I.Y. collectives sharing the same geographical & ideological roots: Republyk Vort’n Vis & Genet records. They represent over 18 years of experience of organizing & promoting underground events. By joining hands, they manage to make the mother of all European underground hardcore festivals the big success it has always been. Profits are split up between both collectives who re-invest it in their future projects. Check www.vortnvis.net & www.genetrecords.com  to learn more about the organizers

GALACTIC will collect used PLA cups after the event and fully recycle them...

  • COULEUR CAFE

  • June 25-27, 2010 – Couleur Cafe Festival Brussels, Belgium

Based since 1994 in Tour & Taxis, one of the most beautiful industrial sites in Europe, COULEUR CAFE is a well-known festival of world music but also a celebration of all music from r & b, hip-hop, World, to African, reggae, salsa, rock, etc. ... Offering a culinary experience with more than 50 different cuisine, 4 stands for tea tasting, and gathering almost 80,000 visitors in three days, the festival inevitably generates a large amount of waste. To minimize the environmental footprint of the festival, the cups are made this year with polylactic acid (PLA), a plastic issued from renewable materials.
After being sorted out, the PLA waste will be sent to Escanaffles where Galactic has developed an innovative recycling process: LOOPLA.

More and more festivals like COULEUR CAFE affirm their choice for durable solutions...This is a great opportunity for Galactic.
